She has been the RMC Men’s Rugby strength and conditioning coach since 2013, and from 2005-2013 was the RMC women’s volleyball strength and conditioning coach. Her international strength and conditioning coaching led her to the Rio Olympics in 2016 with Leonora MacKinnon and the Canadian Women’s Epee Team. Kara also coached with the Canadian Forces Women’s Volleyball Program at the World Military Games in South Korea in 2015, World Military Games in Brazil in 2011, World Volleyball Championships in Germany in 2008, Brazil in 2009, USA Cherry Point in 2010 and Amsterdam in 2012.
Kara has delivered courses for St. Lawrence College in the Fitness and Health Promotion Program, and a facilitator in Strengthening the Forces - Injury Reduction Strategies and Weight Wellness Lifestyle Program.
Kara’s knowledge and passion for reconditioning partially stems from an injury in 2012 where she ruptured her achilles tendon. She now works to close the gap between rehabilitation and strength and conditioning.
